Old rear end, hairpins and rear shocks removed

We now move on to preparing the car for the conversion to I.R.S.

The old rear end, hairpins, and rear shocks are removed.

Front grill, radiator and other parts removed

We will also be doing a motor swap, and repainting this car. So the front grill, radiator, etc. are removed to gain better access to the motor.

Motor removed

Then the motor is removed.

Doors, trunk lid, windshield removed

In preparation for paint the doors, trunk lid, windshield are removed.

Steering column and gauges removed

Also the steering column and gauges are all removed.

Lining up the I.R.S

We begin fitting the I.R.S. by getting it lined up properly and in place.

Making sure everything is level with each other

It is very important that the frame as well as the new components are level with one another.

Brackets tack welded in place

Next the brackets that mount the main support member to the frame can be tack welded in place.

Inner radius rod brackets fitted and welded in

After that, the brackets for the inner radius rods are fitted and welded into place.

Rear end removed and welding being finished

Once all the mounting locations are determined, the rear end is removed and the rest of the welding can be completed.
