With the metal work done, the Roadrunner is loaded up and taken to get baked, dipped and e-coated, removing all remaining old paint, rust and dirt and sealing every inch of metal from moisture and rust. When the car gets back it will be ready to begin body work.

After all the metal replacement work was done, the Road runner was taken to Metal Finishing Services in Jackson, Mississippi where they used a non-destructive alkaline electro-chemical derusting process to remove all the rust left in every nook and cranny of the cars frame and body components. |

Next the frame body and doors were all E-coated. This is an immersion process where parts are placed in a bath and an electrical voltage is used to attract the paint to all areas of a part, including inaccessible areas such as the inside of doors and frame and support components. |

As you can see the process results in a great clean surface to start with when recreating the finish on this car, as well as preventing any new rust from forming on the places you don’t see. |
