1957 CORVETTE

When life gives you lemons build a resto-mod! That’s what HRE did with Chip Moxley’s 1957 Corvette. Chip purchased a bright red corvette with a fuel injected 283 and a four speed thinking it was a good candidate for factory restore. But that was not the case. Upon further inspection he found frame damage from an accident, sloppy homemade front fenders and non-matching engine numbers. After discussing his options with HRE the plan was to make it a modern driving car, while retaining much of the original styling.

We started with a brand new Art Morrison chassis fitted with factory corvette suspension. The body was media blasted and a new front clip was ordered and properly installed. All mechanical workings were upgraded and heat and air were added. A General Motors Performance LS7 427c.i. engine was paired with a T56 Magnum 6 Speed and installed complete with custom panels under the hood.

The exterior styling of the Corvette was basically left alone using all the factory trim, as was the interior, apart from the Dakota Digital gauges, dash vents and quality red leather seats.

The end result is a sharp ride with high drivability and a vintage look, all in one shiny package!
